Dr Pravin Suryawanshi is a renowned Prof. & Head, Department of Surgery and Deputy Dean of MGM Medical College & Hospital, Aurangabad and C.E.O of M.G.M’s Medical Centre and Research Institute.Â
A skilled surgeon and administrator, Dr Pravin has earned the respect and adulation of many in the medical field with his valuable contributions to the field of surgery. His diligence and dedication towards making quality healthcare services easily accessible to a larger population, the Association of Surgeons of India has made Dr Pravin Suryawanshi in charge of the National Program for quality enhancement across the country.
He is the first advanced laparoscopic surgeon in the Marathwada region. He has performed many complex abdominal surgeries laparoscopically like Laparoscopic Pancreatico Jejunostomy, Lap Total Colectomy & Lap Donor Nephrectomy.
He is amongst the very few laparoscopic surgeons in India to perform the Total Laparoscopic Pancreatico Duodenectomy, which is a very complex abdominal surgery for pancreatic cancer.
Dr Pravin is the only endoscopic surgeon to perform POEM (Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy) in the Marathwada region. He is also one of the few advanced therapeutic Endoscopists to have performed more than 3000 advanced Endoscopic procedures like therapeutic ERCP, EUS and Endoscopic Cystogastrostomy. He has published more than 25 papers in National & International journals and has been invited as a faculty for guest lectures. He has done live demonstrations of complex laparoscopic surgeries in National and International conferences.Â
He was also invited as a faculty member by Advanced Laparoscopic Training Centres like ETHICON USA. He is the only faculty in the Marathwada region for the college of AMASI. His passion for teaching was appreciated by the Indian Medical Association & Lion’s Club of Aurangabad and he was awarded the Best Teacher Award.
He is a part of social activities as the President of Marathwada Hospital Association (MHA). He takes constant efforts to propagate quality healthcare services throughout Marathwada and has conducted free multi-diagnostic camps and through them, he has treated more than 10000 patients for free.Â
For Dr Pravin, laparoscopic surgery is an art that can open many doors in the field of gastrointestinal surgery. His dedication and hard work towards the field of laparoscopy have been rewarded by his appointment as the youngest President Of Maharashtra, Association of Surgeons of India and EC of Association of Surgeons of India.

The Center Of Excellence for Gastroenterology and Minimal Access Surgery was established with the intent to bridge the gap between the need and availability of quality healthcare services in the Marathwada region.
The first center in Marathwada region to perform advanced endoscopic procedures. The department is fully equipped with state of the art infrastructure and equipment, facilities including latest 180, 190 series high definition endoscopes with NBI (Narrow Band Imaging) and Endoscopic Ultrasound with required accessories. With unique combination of the best in class technology, put to use by the best names in the professional circles to ensure world-class healthcare to all patients, the center, headed by Dr. Pravin Suryawanshi, Chief HPB & Laparoscopic Surgeon, comprises of highly skilled surgeons with impeccable credentials and is ably supported by dedicated surgical residents.
Established in the year 2001, it is spread across 2500 sq. ft. of area, having separate reception, consulting room, patient waiting room, recovery room and Endoscopy room for all the endoscopic procedures. It provides all advanced services and has state of the art infrastructure and equipment.
